The Ax4 mission has arrived at the ISS!

The Ax-4 mission successfully docked

On Thursday, 26th June at 13:31 CEST, the crew of Axiom Mission 4 successfully docked at the International Space Station (ISS) nearly 28 hours after launching from Florida. The Dragon capsule named Grace connected with the 'Harmony' port of the ISS, allowing the astronauts to enter the station at approximately 14:14.

Official welcome on board

Upon entering the ISS, the crew participated in an official welcome ceremony attended by current NASA astronauts. Commander Peggy Whitson presented all crew members with new astronaut badges – with the following numbers:

  • Shubhanshu Shukla (India) – 634

  • Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski (Polska) – 635

  • Tibor Kapu (Hungary) – 636

The European IGNIS mission has been fully launched

Thus, Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski has officially commenced his IGNIS mission as the first Pole in outer space since 1978. Soon, the execution of scientific and educational experiments, which were the main objective of this flight, will begin.

What's ahead of us?

The crew will spend approximately 14 days on the ISS, during which they will conduct over 60 experiments across various fields, such as biology, materials physics, medicine, and technology.
