Safety is the priority

In preparation for the launch of the Axiom Mission 4 (Ax-4) to Międzynarodowa Stacja Kosmiczna, a decision has been made to hold the planned launch on 11 June.

“We are cancelling the planned launch date of the Ax-4 mission to Międzynarodowa Stacja Kosmiczna on 11 June to allow SpaceX teams extra time to address the liquid oxygen (LOx) leak detected during the booster inspection following the static fire test. After repairs have been completed—and depending on the availability of the launch window—we will announce a new launch date.”

The decision is a standard element of the safety policy that SpaceX and Axiom Space apply to every crewed mission. Additional tests are intended to fully verify the repairs and ensure maximum safety for the entire operation.

The Ax-4 mission represents another stage in the development of commercial crewed flights to low Earth orbit. The four-member crew of the mission will conduct numerous scientific and educational experiments on board the ISS, supporting the advancement of medical, biological research, and space technology.

Axiom Space and SpaceX assure that the safety of the crew and equipment remains the absolute priority of the entire endeavour.
